About Dumfries and Galloway Befriending Project
D&G Befriending Project exists to promote the wellbeing of vulnerable young people, aged 8-18 living in Dumfries and Galloway. This is done through one-to-one befriending a young person with a safe adult – enjoying community based activities. Being matched with a befriender helps the young person feel valued, while trying out new opportunities and giving them a range of everyday experiences they would not otherwise get. It can also aid successful transitions and explore coping strategies.
