The expedition is taking place in Mexico, at Calakmul Biosphere Reserve, where mammals like jaguars, spider monkeys and tapir are considered as endangered as their food supplies are often other mammals, hunted by humans. The forests are unlike other forest areas as they are close to the Mayan Ruins. The expedition aims to research the distribution of big cats and their relationship with their environment, including preferred prey and water supplies (also called aguadas by locals).
