About World Scout Jamboree Japan 2015 Wiltshire - Daniel Scott

I am a twelve year old Scout, belonging to 1st Highworth Redlands troop, and I along with 26 other Scouts have the have had the honour of being selected to represent Wiltshire at the 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Japan in 2015! It will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience the culture by living with a Japanese family and meeting some of the 30,000 scouts from all over the world. This will be a truly life-changing event for me, enabling me to form international friendships, experience other cultures, explore themes of peace, science, adventure, solidarity and to help out with local community projects. In addition, the Wiltshire unit is lucky enough to be joined by Solidarity patrol – a group of scouts from a developing country. During the run-up to the Jamboree and for some time after my return, I will be visiting scout troops, schools and other youth organisations in my local area to give other young people an overview of my plans and later my experiences. My intention is to inspire them to get involved and to contribute to world unity and understanding. As a group, the Wiltshire scouts have to raise £105,000 to cover the costs. In true Scouting spirit, a portion of our fees also support Scouts from less developed countries to enable them to join us. I am responsible for fundraising my share of the money – £3,500. I would be very grateful for any donation that you could make to help me achieve my goal, thank you very much for your support! Daniel

"I run a not for profit Community Interest Company and shared our cause. Very easy to use, templates ready to share on social media, with direct links to our page and pop up reminders installed for when I was shopping with numerous websites, where I could gain the free donation. Excellent service and a fabulous idea."
