About Dollar Golf Club

Background Golf has been played at Dollar in the county of Clackmannanshire since 1890. A unique small village course in Scotland – it is a reminder of how the game grew in our country. This is a course designed by the golf legend Ben Sayers and visited in June 1921 by Harry Vardon (six times British Open champion) with Ted Ray (U.S. Open Champion at Inverness, Toledo in 1920). Vardon rated by many as second only to Bobby Jones, played an exhibition game with Ray over this beautiful 18-hole course. Both players expressed their “appreciation of the course and remarked on the excellence of the turf and the quality of the greens”. Players for all walks of life and village children are members from the youngest ages and membership is open to all. Few other locations can match our historic site and exceptional scenery. Why we need your support Our historical treasure requires charitable donations to create a sustainable future for the optimal running of an 18 hole hillside village club, as a non profit community asset. Community benefits Dollar Community Council and Dollar Civic Trust both support this development. The clubhouse would be used by community groups and other Dollar sports clubs for those playing tennis, squash and badminton.

"There's quite a few sites similar to easyfundraising. But where this site stands out is it's helpful & quick replies to queries. It is so easy to set up an account & to start saving for a good cause - I've recommended easyfundraising to a lot of my friends, and they're as impressed as I am with the ease of how it works."

"I run a not for profit Community Interest Company and shared our cause. Very easy to use, templates ready to share on social media, with direct links to our page and pop up reminders installed for when I was shopping with numerous websites, where I could gain the free donation. Excellent service and a fabulous idea."
