Ealing Choral Society

Ealing Choral Society is a choir of 100 singers, based in Ealing, West London. We perform a wide range of choral music from classical to contemporary, working with professional orchestras and soloists. We hold three concerts a year (typically in November, March and June) as well as a Charity Carol Concert in December. We also take part in local community events. We actively seek and welcome financial support from the commercial sector, the general public, our members and associate members in order to support the following plans and activities of the choir:- Concerts During each season, the cost of our concerts (e.g. venue, orchestra, soloists, music hire) always exceeds our box office revenue. As a result, the choice of the works we can perform is restricted, sometimes severely. We cover the loss by subscriptions and other sources. Support from sponsorship and donations will help a great deal to fund our performances. Bursary fund Due to a generous legacy from a choir member, we are able to provide free membership of the choir to young people through our bursary fund. Support from sponsorship and donations will help to replenish this fund. 50th anniversary. We will mark our 50th anniversary season in 2011-2012 by the following special events:- Undertaking a major work that we have not been able to perform before such as Britten\'s War Requiem at the QEH in March 2012. The commissioning of a new work to be performed at the Cadogan Hall, Sloane Terrace in June 2012. A 50th anniversary concert to be held at Ealing Abbey in November 2012. Support from sponsorship and donations will help to realise these plans. Future Legacy We recognise the importance of promoting choral music to new audiences and new members, thereby creating a legacy for the future. Support from sponsorship and donations will help us provide incentives in this area (e.g. offering subsidised tickets to young people or other groups).
