Over £35m raised for good causes through easyfundraising
Responsible for the restoration and ongoing maintenance of an historic lighthouse is the Western Isles of Scotland. Eilean Glas Lighthouse is in severe disrepair, and although we have a great deal of support from the public and the local community, we have no regular source of funding.
Things are looking up, with the hope of a generous grant from Historic Scotland to repair the roofs, but we need to raise many more thousands to make Eilean Glas open to the public.
One of Scotland\'s first four lighthouses, Eilean Glas in among the world\'s most exceptional lighthouses, boasting impressive architecture, set in a truly stunning location and with an extraordinary history. About two thousand walkers a year visit and wander around the delapidated buildings. We hope to restore them to their former glory and fulfill our charitable objectives of promoting Eilean Glas for public benefit, opening the buildings, creating a small museum, and welcoming overnight guests.
