World Challenge Nepal 2018 - Eleanor Turner

Hi, my name is Eleanor A fantastic opportunity has arisen through my school to do good for under privileged people Its called The World Challenge. This is an opportunity for me to deeply engage myself in a worthy cause to assist the greatly disadvantaged people of Nepal. Hopefully if I can raise enough sponsorship, I will be leaving for this incredible adventure in the summer of 2018. The trip involves testing my own personal resolve and resources, challenging me to trek across mountain ranges, through jungle terrain and crossing fast flowing rivers. I will have to take on roles of leader, banker and chef and take ownership of day to day expedition life. I am hoping that this will leave a lifelong impact on me, having experienced so many things outside my comfort zone. The project phase of the expedition is typically 5-7 days spent working alongside a local community or on a conservation project. Each destination has its own range of projects, but all offer the chance to contribute something meaningful back to a local area through youth work abroad. Many school community projects are based in rural and remote areas where challengers live and interact with local people. Teams become familiar with the community and are immersed in daily life and tradition, offering unrivalled cultural experience. I am doing this in the memory of my young cousin Alex who sadly lost his life at the age of 9 in 2014. Financing the trip is of course where you come in, as a challenger I need to raise almost £2800.00 I would greatly appreciate any financial support you could offer me as we are obliged to seek sponsorship as part of the challenge.
