World Challenge is a program enabling teenagers like myself, to experience other cultures, build life skills, and develop our understanding of the world around us. I will embark on a 21 day journey of self discovery, learning crucial life skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership, resilience, negotiation, delegation, money management and problem solving, as well as opening up my eyes to new cultures, religions and life away from home. During this opportunity, myself and a selection of other students will take part in two treks, and a humanitarian project. This project will mean that I will be able to make a difference, to help in a country that needs every bit of aid they can get, from building schools, to teaching English, building wells to working in an orphanage. This also means that by the time I turn fifteen, I can say that I have made a difference, and that is something that will shape me into the person I wish to become. The World Challenge program enables myself and many other challengers to be involved in every aspect of the expedition planning, including planning the itinerary, budgeting, and fundraising. Since learning about this new experience being offered to me, I have jumped at every chance to fundraise, I have washed cars and held cake sales as well as make Christmas goods for a stall at my brother’s Primary School. Whilst I have many more ideas to make this amazing opportunity possible, I need your help. Every little bit counts, and I am determined to make it to World Challenge 2015. Given my age of 15, and that I attend school 7 hours a day, the job market is extremely limited, and almost always unmanageable as my education must take precedence. Crowd funding is such a great way to make opportunities like my own become a reality, and I know that with your help I can reach my goal of £3000. Please help me, if you are I would gladly share the photographs and memories of my trip once they have become reality.
