I am a PGCE English Student at Queen's University Belfast starting in September 2019. Student Finance deem you dependent on your parents until age 26. I am 23 and have no income from my parents whatsoever. Therefore I have received as much as I can from student finance which leaves me with around £40 a week to live on after paying rent. The PGCE year is very demanding and I won't be able to hold down a part-time job. I am fundraising as I live in Belfast, I am independent and need financial aid.
