Over £32m raised for good causes through easyfundraising
Epiphany is a newly founded charity aiming to promote basic human rights in areas of the world currently overlooked by International or local aid, starting in Kolkata (previously Calcutta) in West Bengal. The aim of the fundraising is to raise enough in the year to enable the building of an orphanage/school complex, bringing the children both practical life skills as well as a basic education enabling them to attend government-level schools. The building work will involve hiring local builders and craftsmen to help, bringing positive benefits on a wider scale than just the children. Also, local women will be hired to assist with cooking, cleaning etc, again helping the community. In longer term, the produce of the children from textiles lessons etc will be sold and the money put directly back into the complex, helping the children to help themselves in a sustainable way.
