Few people know that there are cetaceans in the mediterranean. However, the amount of threats that they face at the hands of tourism and commercial fishing has meant that their numbers are greatly reduced. With the funds raised here, I plan on volunteering with DMAD, a marine research organisation based in Turkey, at one of their bases in Montenegro. There, I will develop and improve upon skills essential to studying and helping marine mammals such as theodolite tracking, photo ID, and GIS.
