Over £32m raised for good causes through easyfundraising
The Gunstone Trust was founded in memory of Sam Gunstone who was tragically killed on the A31 on 1st May 2010 at the age of 18. An extremely popular young man with a passion for art, skateboarding and the outdoors, his friends and family have decided that this vibrant individual, who so enriched the lives of all of those that had the pleasure of knowing or meeting him, will leave a lasting legacy.
The aim of The Gunstone Trust is to raise funds for much-needed youth and community projects within Wimborne and the surrounding area. With many ideas that promote the provision of positive leisure-time activities, the reduction of drug misuse and crime amongst young people and the advancement of education, we have gained support from youth workers and councillors alike and are working with the council to try to get projects up-and-running.
In the short-term we are raising money to revamp Redcotts Skate Ramp, Wimborne and other areas of the park that people of all ages utilise. A lack of space at Redcotts means that unfortunately there is no room to develop the skate ramp further there in which case thinking longer-term we are looking at possible sites to relocate to and establish better skate/bike facilities elsewhere.
Ultimately our vision is to become a charity that is community-focused in terms of providing accessible activities for all and we would like to enable young people to realise their full potential and not be prevented from doing so by reason of disadvantage.
