East African Playgrounds Uganda 2018 - Hannah Cooper

n the Summer of 2018, I will be travelling to Uganda with a group of other volunteers to help transform a community by building a new playground. My target is to raise £800 for the charity East African Playgrounds. I believe that every child should have the opportunity of a having safe environment to play in. However, for many children, this is sadly not the case. What we want to do is create that safe environment in which children can play. A playground may seem such a simple place, however, it is a place where children can grow and develop skills. Children unconsciously are developing necessary social and emotional skills through play every day. It has been proven that these playgrounds increase school attendance, as well as the general happiness of the children in school. Examples of what can be funded by your donations are: £10 - builds a toy giraffe for the children of the community to play with £15 - builds a motorbike out of tires, allowing children to engage their creativity in role-play scenarios £20 - funds safety equipment for young adults £50 builds a table with space for a variety of board games It would be amazing if you could help me reach my target.
