Over £35m raised for good causes through easyfundraising
Project trust is an educational charity based on the Isle of Coll sending young volunteers abroad. I attended the 4 day selection course on the Isle of Coll where I will be returning for training. Project trust’s main aims are to provide young people with the opportunity to immerse themselves in a community overseas, living and working there for a whole year. As well as giving volunteers the chance to learn new skills and undertake work they have never done while using their initiative and resourcefulness to help others.
I shall be teaching English to children of mixed ages from 5 to 18 years old, possibly in a school for the blind or deaf. I have been selected to go to either Andhra Pradesh or Tamil Nadu in Southern India. The main language in most of the projects is Telegu, so I’m hoping to learn some of that too! I am also hoping to run my own after-school activities such as cooking, handicraft and swimming as well as teaching other subjects.
