About our cause

We are a non-profit group. Some of the aims of our association are to: To develop the growth and understanding of Capoeira incorporating other cultural aspects of Afro-Brazilian art forms and related artistic and educational activities. Develop activities that are beneficial to the community and contribute to the development of other, less developed groups. Promote healthy recreation and encourage physical activity to all ages, whilst continuing the focus on creating a community environment. The group targets deprived areas in Swansea and Wales looking to develop all the above points into the local communities. Capoeira uses its roots to teach and motivate people to have an all over healthier life. It does this by using the Afro-Brazilian traditions of Capoeira, Afro-Brazilian dance, singing, playing instruments and interacting the multi-cultural aspects of the participants. The group is based in Swansea and has been continually developing this work for the past five years. The instructor is a native Brazilian with 26 years of experience.
