World Challenge Malaysia 2012 - Jessica Murray

For my World Challenge charity expedition to Malaysia, I am required to raise £1749, to cover all costs whilst I'm away. On top of this I am required to buy equipment such as rucksacks, sleeping bag and walking poles, as well as a whole host of specialist trekking clothes. The trip will be for 2 weeks, commencing 23rd July. Although the official itinerary has yet to be finalised, our provisional itinerary stated we would have a short acclimatisation period before doing a 3 day charity project. This could involve helping out in local schools, helping care for children with disabilities, working in elephant sanctuary or doing conservation work. The exact details of this will be confirmed nearer the time. We then commence a four day trek in the Cameron Highlands before returning to Kuala Lumpur for a few days rest and relaxation. Each day a team member must take leadership and responsibility for the group. As a group we must book accommodation, transport etc for when we are away. As a result the challenge will help us develop a number of skills, which will be vital for later on in life. I am doing the trip with my school, Cramlington Learning Village.
