I have been selected to represent Team GB at the World Transplant Games to be held in Mar Del Plata Argentina 23rd-30th August 2015. Held every two years, the World Transplant Games are one of the largest international sporting events. At the 2013 Games in Durban, South Africa, over 1500 athletes from 55 countries took part in 20 sports. As in all the previous 19 World Transplant Games, Team GB led the medal table. All participants at the World Games have received a life-saving organ transplant be it heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas or bone marrow. I received a kidney transplant from my father in December 1996 after spending a year on dialysis. In addition to the physical sporting challenge, the World Transplant Games promote the benefits of organ transplantation and highlights the need for organ donation. As a member of Team GB, I am required to pay for my own transport, accommodation and kit, and to cover the cost of attending the four mandatory team training days at Warwick University. The total cost of my preparation and participation at the Games is approximately £2,500 and any contribution you/Company X would be able to offer would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to further raise the profile of your organisation there are additional sponsorship opportunities available including branding of the Team GB kit, advertising on the Transplant Sport website, and coverage on the Transplant Sport newsletters/Magazine. The World Transplant Games provides a rare PR opportunity, generating regional, national and international media coverage. Further information on the British and World Transplant Games can be found at www.transplantsport.org.uk and www.wtgf.org.
