About Kacper Bielak
Kacper Bielak was born on 23rd of September 2003 and soon after birth he was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot, which is a type of rare congenital heart defect. With Tetralogy of Fallot not enough blood is able to reach the lungs to get oxygen and oxygen poor blood flows to the body. Kacper has already had four operations and several cardiac catheterizations in children’s hospital Centrum Zdrowia Dziecka in Warsaw. His last corrective operation was in July 2011, however it was not fully successful. Specialists in Poland are not able to perform a Total Surgical Repair, which would involve reconstructing the heart to work properly. Fortunately the heart specialists in Munich agreed to perform the lifesaving operation, which is scheduled for next year. The total cost of the operation is about £20.000.
