World Challenge Costa Rica 2013 - Kay Baxter

Raising funds for my 4 week expedition to Costa Rica. World Challenge is an organisation which offers students an experience to develop life skills outside of the classroom. To get to the expedition, each student participating in Costa Rica 2013 must raise a total of £3,795 each, over a time span of around 18 months. This is incredibly challenging, but the cost is necessary to organise the four-week long programme. During the four weeks, there is a week of charity work - anything from building a school, to working with a turtle conservation agency, a trek stage which is anywhere between 5 and 14 days long, and could include climbs up to 3000m, and a week of rest and relaxation. The 18-month build up, and £3,795 worth of fundraising, are all part of the process; a process which really helps to stand out from the crowd. It truly is a wonderful opportunity, and I must raise as much of the money myself as I can... Quite a challenge for a fourteen year old!
