About The Kitabu Project

This project was begun in 2008 to raise money for building a library for a very large and needy Primary School in Ekitale, Western Kenya. The school, Kitale Primary School, has few text books and nowhere for pupils to read or look at books. The community, needy themselves in this rural area, are responsible for buildings and the upkeep of the school. A library would also provide an area for staff to train. There is a seven strong committee established to oversee the project and contact with Fran Maciver in the UK who has visited the school several times. £2500 has already been raised, but we need a roof on this library! Please do what you can. The Kitabu Project is registered as a community account with Baclays.

"There's quite a few sites similar to easyfundraising. But where this site stands out is it's helpful & quick replies to queries. It is so easy to set up an account & to start saving for a good cause - I've recommended easyfundraising to a lot of my friends, and they're as impressed as I am with the ease of how it works."

"I run a not for profit Community Interest Company and shared our cause. Very easy to use, templates ready to share on social media, with direct links to our page and pop up reminders installed for when I was shopping with numerous websites, where I could gain the free donation. Excellent service and a fabulous idea."
