Llangollen Railway is a Heritage Railway set in the picuturesque town of Llangollen, North Wales and forms part of the former Ruabon to Barmouth line which became a victim of Dr Beeching\'s cuts in the 1960\'s. The Railway was reopened in Llangollen in 1975 where 60 feet of track had been relaid. Berwyn Station was reached in 1985, Glyndyfrdwy in 1993 and Carrog in 1996 totalling 7.5 miles. Plans are in hand to extend the line a further 2.5 miles to Corwen town. All of this would not be possible without the determination and committment of our volunteers and staff (past & present), generous donations made to Llangollen Railway Trust by members, shareholders, visitors and benefactors.Llangollen Railway is also the major visitor attraction in Llangollen and welcomes in excess of 100,000 visitors each year.
