LWF Dept for World Service

LWF World Service is the internationally recognized humanitarian aid and development agency of the Lutheran World Federation, working with the poorest people in the parts of the world with the greatest needs. With field programs in 36 countries of Africa, Asia, Latin & Central America and Europe, LWF World Service has a long and successful record of compassionate and professional response to natural and man-made disasters and their impact on poor peoples\' lives (mostly refugees and displaced persons). LWF World Service also has an outstanding record in longer-term development work in education, food security, water and sanitation, community services, HIV/AIDS and environmental management. In all of its work, LWF World Service seeks to enable poor people and their communities to gain the skills and self-confidence to identify and solve their own problems, cutting dependency and building a sustainable future. To achieve its goals, LWF World Service partners with local communites, community based orgnizations, local authorties, governments, United Nations (including WFP, UNHCR, UNICEF and others), churches, and non-government organizations.
