Over the years we have been moved by the reports of poverty and poor living conditions that people are suffering in Africa and other third world nations. But apart from donating money thee has been little we can do. The reports that we have seen and read have made us realise just how fortunate we are in this country; even down to the simple pleasures of running water, heated houses and electricity. These are basic living requirements that many in Africa are forced to survive without. We are have now come to an age where what we say and do can have a positive impact on the world around us and we plan to use it. With the majority of the local people dependent on subsistence farming, environmental projects play an important part in local development. Mad Conservation projects are run in conjunction with the wildlife and forestry departments and are chosen to provide the maximum benefit to both local communities and the environment We may also be able to help in the health sector, in the developing world is a real challenge. Perhaps one of the most disturbing aspect of the health sector in these countries is that if patients can’t afford treatments or procedures then they don’t receive the treatment. To have the opportunity to go on this venture to help build a vital resource for a small community or help with conservation, we need to raise up to pound;5,000. We are planning to do this through sponsorship from companies,donations and also through lots of fundraising.
