Over £40m raised for good causes through easyfundraising
Passionate about creativity, diversity and inclusion Momentum Arts is a catalyst for social change. We engage, inspire and connect people and communities in the East of England through creative arts projects. Increasingly working at an international level for the East of England, Momentum Arts is also a founding partner of the inaugural Street Child World Cup 2010 in South Africa and is coordinating the cultural festival alongside the tournament. This indaba (a South African word which combines – conference and festival) will be an opportunity at which street children will have a chance to tell their stories and talk about the issues which affect them. They will work with a specially trained team of artists, e.g. photographers, writers, dancers or digital animators to develop creative ways of telling their own compelling stories. There will also be an opportunity to celebrate the projects these children come from and see how they can change the lives of street children across the world. Closer to home, we have just completed a successful project with the CLiP consortium where we engaged, via creative arts projects, 185 disadvantaged young people in Fenland and Peterborough. At the heart of the success of this programme was our ability to work in partnership in order to provide high quality and inclusive arts programmes in order to engage with young people facing difficulties. We have also recently completed the highly successful three year heritage project, Untold Stories. Seeking to document the experiences of the BME community of Cambridgeshire Momentum Arts was able to draw on its proven track record of engaging with community groups in order to challenge popular perceptions of Cambridgeshire. The project was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the experience and contributions of all of our community. We are exceptionally proud of our work in the fields of diversity, inclusion and regeneration and extremely excited about our involvement in the first ever Street Children’s World Cup.
