Over £32m raised for good causes through easyfundraising
I am running the London Marathon this year for Sense, a very worthwhile and deserving cause. Sense is a national charity that supports and campaigns for some of the most isolated people in today’s society: children and adults who are both deaf and blind.
They provide specialist information, advice and services to deaf, blind people, their families, carers and the professionals who work with them. They also support people who have sensory impairments alongside other additional disabilities.
Their services include help for families, day services where deafblind people can build confidence and learn new skills, and Sense-run houses in the community – where people are supported to live independently. Their communicator-guides offer a vital lifeline to deafblind people living in their own homes. They also provide specialist advice on, for example, education options and assistive technology.
I started my training for the Marathon on the 26th December and will continue working hard for the next 16 weeks to ensure I hit my time of 3h 15 minutes for the course.
I have been running now for the last 12 months and in that time have completed a number of Half Marathons, 10 mile races and 10k's. I challenge myself at every race and this time felt that with that challenge I should also try to use the effort in also raising money for a charity. I feel this adds further focus for me and also hopefully will deliver benefits to those that receive the output of the funding, thus helping them to achieve some of their goals. I really hope you can help me get to my goal, by using this website for your purchases.
