About Northern Praeclassica
Northern Praeclassica is a chamber choir conducted by Mark Edwards, of approximately twenty-five members, based in Newcastle upon Tyne. It was formed in 1973 primarily to perform sacred music of the 16th Century, but over the years the repertoire has been extended to embrace choral music of all periods. Sacred and secular, accompanied and unaccompanied, large and small scale works: all appear on the Choir's programs. Each year the Choir stages three concerts, usually one in aid of charity.
