The Parish of Gelligaer is a three church parish situated in the heart of the Rhymney Valley. The Parish Church of St. Catwg\'s is of historical interest. A church has been on this site since the 6th century with the present church dating back to the 13th century. The churches of St. Margaret\'s, Gilfach and St. Anne\'s, Cefn Hengoed make up the parish with both being built in the 20th century.
