About this cause

About our cause

Reading Matters is a registered charity and not-for-profit social enterprise. We provide vital 1:1 support for children and young people who are struggling and reluctant readers, giving them an opportunity to catch up fast. On average, after a 10 week period of intervention (1 hour per week), a young person's reading age will improve by 15 months, and in some cases by much more. We also provide literacy support and training for schools, parents and carers and other organisations.

It's simple to use and it's free. Since we launched in 2005, we've helped thousands of good causes raise money simply by shopping online. Our community of over 1.8 million loyal supporters has so far raised over £31 million.
