About Sepsis Research FEAT
In the UK around 50,000 people die of sepsis annually, and globally it’s 11 million. An apparently indiscriminate illness, it is caused by the body’s response to infection, when the immune system overreacts and triggers widespread inflammation leading to shock, multiple organ failure and death. Sepsis Research FEAT is helping to fund world-leading research at the University of Edinburgh into the treatment of the illness and we’re the only charity in the UK doing this work.
