About St Mary's Church - Carlton

St Mary's Church is situated in the village of Carlton, overlooking some of the beautiful countryside of Bedfordshire. The Church building was begun around 950 and has continued to grow through the centuries. Each succeeding generation has sought to be faithful in maintaining the good order of this church and expanding its ministry to villagers and those further afield. It is our privilege to be able to continue this work. We are currently dealing with the results of lead and copper theft from the roof - replacing them with a far less valuable metal alongside dealing with water damage caused by the rain leaking through. Our efforts will hopefully preserve the roof and maintain the church's contents for the future.
