About this cause

About our cause

Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome is a Museum and active airfield near Chelmsford, Essex. Purchased for the nation by a Trust in January 2014, it is a huge renovation project where award-winning volunteers are doing all they can to rescue the 22, 2* Listed buildings, returning the site to its 1917/18 appearance while commemorating the sacrifice of Great War Aviators. It houses exhibitions, a shop, a cafe - all in original buildings. It has hangars of aircraft and mounts regular events of all kinds
