Surrey Sands

Epsom

The Surrey group of the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity is an autonomous self funded group run by bereaved parents for bereaved parents. All those who represent us are volunteers and our work and support services are funded entirely by donations. Membership of Surrey Sands is separate to that of National Sands. We operate autonomously under the Sands constitution working towards the same aims as the umbrella organisation. Surrey Sands offers our support services to 7 hospitals and to bereaved families living in Surrey or the surrounding borders. Our work starts with the provision of bereavement facilities within the hospitals, training of healthcare professionals to improve the care and understanding needed at the time of bereavement on to long term after care once parents leave hospital.
