We work with community groups and volunteers providing education and training on biodiversity, sustainability and wildlife protection. All of our local environmental work is carried out by working with local people of all ages and from all backgrounds. SVP has been working with people for the benefit of our environment for nearly 25 years.
Some of our volunteers are working to combat serious problems such as mental illness, long term unemployment and drug and alcohol addiction. We enjoy working in our local environment and seeing people make personal progress over the time that they work with us. It is a privilege to be in a position to be able to support our local community in this manner.
In recent years we have diversified our project work and funding, including opening our own eco-shop, to ensure we are well placed for future development.
During 2010/11 volunteers gave 21,894 hours of their time to our organisation. Please see our website for our annual report and information on individual projects.
