Solo UK Woman Takes On The World. I am competing in the First ever Womens Adventure Challenge in Nepal in March 2010. The event sees 48 women from all over the world completing challenges and tasks in order to win the following years entry to the event. Some of the tasks involve biking, trekking, canoeing, off roading and climbing. One challenge is a community project wherein we have to make over a local school. Representing UK, I will be competing for donations to three UK charities. Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, funding will help to enrich very sick childrens lives by making their dreams come true. Growing up as an army child, my father was involved in the Gulf war, so Help for Heroes is my second charity where money raised will help to build Army Recovery Centers, rehabilitation houses for those wounded serving their country. I am passionate about conservation of our natural world and as I am also a volunteer, Suffolk Wildlife Trust is also a deserving cause. Funds will be used on areas such as habitat houses or education. I also need contributions for a local Nepali school in need of paint, childrens toys and english books. These schools are in the remotest areas and are often the poorest. By injecting some much needed work back into the community, education will not just be for those who can afford it. I am looking to raise a minimum of 15,000 pounds. This will also cover the events registration costs and travel expenses to get to Nepal and home again.
