Tom Browns School Museum is housed in the Old Schoolroom, founded in 1617 by Thomas Saunders and featured in the book Tom Brown's Schooldays. The day to day running of the museum is overseen by Uffington Museum Trust, registered charity 292109. The Trust relies on donations & the sale of merchandise to cover the annual operating costs of £1,500. We attract over 1000 visitors a year to see the exhibitions on Thomas Hughes, Sir John Betjeman, The White Horse and the mock Victorian schoolroom.
