We are a not for profit community based organisation, who provide basic life support until the Ambulance service arrive at the scene. We are run completely by enthusiastic volunteers, who recieve a page from the North West Ambulance service for life threatening emergencies. The idea is to have a locally trained bank of volunteers, who can respond quickly to patients suffering from unconconciousness for any reason, chocking and breathing difficulties, heart attack casualties and cases of cardiac arrest. We can then attend in the golden 8 minutes response time, and provide comfort, basic life support, and empathy until the ambulance arrives. We receive no government funding for what we do, and so rely on the generosity of Trust funds, businesses, and local people.
