About World Challenge Borneo 2013 - Rachel Ifediora

This expedition will be the culmination of a skills development programme run by World Challenge. The 4-week expedition will be preceded by 15-20 months of preparation and planning by all team members, which will involve raising funds to take part as well as researching and planning their itinerary. World Challenge is 100% educationally focused, and every programme they run is designed with students’ personal development in mind, through experiential learning and gaining new skills including the management of money, decision making, learning from mistakes, leadership skills and working as a team. All their Expeditions incorporate their ethos of challenge, environment and participation: • Challenge: Students face a series of mental and physical challenges, taking them outside their comfort zones and teaching them how to overcome adversity, cope with new environments and become more aware of both their strengths and weaknesses. • Participation: Tapping into World Challenge’s expertise and extensive resources, students participate by working as a team, taking responsibility, setting and meeting objectives and learning to become confident decision-makers. • Environment: Students become more environmentally aware by exploring diverse landscapes, finding out about other cultures or discovering more about their own. They will gain a broader global perspective and a greater respect for the world. The expedition will involve several phases including a challenging trek, and a school / community project. The project phase, depending on each team, their destination and location at the time, tends to be a significant and rewarding part of an expedition. It can vary between community work, conservation work, helping out in a school or in an orphanage - essentially something that our students can "give back" to the community or country they are visiting. We want our team to have a positive impact, no matter how small.

It is so easy to set up an account & to start saving for a good cause - I've recommended easyfundraising to a lot of my friends, and they're as impressed as I am with the ease of how it works."

"I run a not for profit Community Interest Company and shared our cause. Very easy to use, templates ready to share on social media, with direct links to our page and pop up reminders installed for when I was shopping with numerous websites, where I could gain the free donation. Excellent service and a fabulous idea."
