The Project covers the Skye and Lochalsh area of the West Highlands of Scotland and supports up to 60 young carers annually. The Project is run with young carers involved in all areas of planning, development, delivery and evaluation of its management and activities.
The Project aims to improve the quality of life of children and young adults from 5 to 18 years of age whose life is restricted because of the need to take responsibility for the care of someone who is chronically ill, has a disability, is experiencing mental ill health or is affected by addiction issues.
The Project provides weekly support groups, regular respite breaks, appropriate skill development training along with advocacy and bereavement support when required. We also support the young carers families and provide young carer led training for service providers.
It's simple to use and it's free. Since we launched in 2005, we've helped thousands of good causes raise money simply by shopping online. Our community of over 2.1 million loyal supporters has so far raised over £35 million.
