Capitalise on the popularity of big-name grand slams with some of these tennis club fundraising ideas.
Host your own Wimbledon-style tournament, with separate competitions for singles, doubles, mixed doubles and juniors. Dress your venue in purple and green and serve strawberries and cream to spectators to really get the Wimbledon vibe going.
Host a dinner at your clubhouse to which all attendees have to wear tennis-bright whites. Serve the messiest food you can think of (think spaghetti and meatballs and chocolate fondue) and offer a prize to the person whose whites have remained immaculate to the end.
If you have a specific fundraising goal in mind (e.g. a new clubhouse or an extra court to cater for growing membership numbers) you may be able to apply to the Lawn Tennis Association to get the money you need as a combined grant and loan.
The perfect way to capitalise on the buzz around grand slam competitions. Ask people to pay a small fee to enter the sweepstake for a major tennis event, such as Wimbledon or the French Open. Upon payment, entrants are randomly assigned a team or player competing in the tournament. Split the money raised between awarding the winner and supplementing your club funds.
Ask your coaches and club members to volunteer their time for a weekend morning to offer tennis taster lessons to children and beginners. You can charge a small fee for the lesson and you may just get a few more membership sign ups too.
