Community Kettle CIC

We spoke with Nicole from The Community Kettle in Cosham, Portsmouth. They are a non-profit community venture offering long and short-term projects that provide shared experience within communities. The kettle is on, inviting local people of all ages into a community hub to take part in activities that enable them to make connections within their community.

Tell us about your cause and what you are fundraising for

Community Kettle is in the midst of building an intergenerational hub in North Portsmouth on the south coast. Funds raised enable us to animate our community’s dream of an inclusive, compassionate, diverse community, where all ages connect to share experiences, ideas and talents. The kettle is on, inviting local people of all ages into a community hub to take part in activities that enable them to make formal and informal encounters with each other.

Why did you sign up to easyfundraising?

We signed up to easyfundraising as it offers a unique opportunity for our supporters to help us raise awareness of our cause and raise much-needed funds with little extra work or costs to them.

As a voluntary director with limited time, I particularly like the fact that it is simple. Simple to sign up, simple for our followers to join and simple to encourage others to join.

What is your top tip for someone new signing up

I would advise any group, charity or non-profit organisation to join easyfundraising. It really is very easy to follow. We found that through family and friends ordering through the easyfundraising app we have raised non-restricted funds. These funds play a big part of helping us to pay our running costs. The penny’s and pounds that your supporters raise really do add up.

Do you do any other fundraising outside of easyfundraising?

Alongside easyfundraising we continue to raise funds through other means such as local events, funding applications and donations. We advertise and encourage people at these events to join easyfundraiser. The key to easyfundraising is that once your followers understand how it works they can play a big part in raising funds from simply shopping through the app.

Thank you, Nicole!
