Star of 2010 – Interflora bouquet winner

Our winner Gemma and her bouquet

We recently asked you to tell us who you thought deserved a big bouquet from Interflora for being a star.  We received lots of nominations here on the blog and our Facebook page too and it shows yet again what an amazing and selfless bunch our members are.

And the winner is….

We chose Gemma Barnes from Angel Children as our winner after receiving a number of heartfelt nominations for her:

Gemma does so much good work in helping bereaved siblings and their familes, she works very hard at making hand made gifts and floral tributes and memorial tributes too, which are given to families that can not afford memorial tributes. Gemma puts her own heartache at losing her 18 year old brother Ryan aside to help those who are affected by sibling bereavement, she is also herself going through treatment for cancer so to have a lovely bouquet would certainly brighten her day. She is a remarkable young lady with two autistic boys age 9 and 3, a fantastic mum to both boys, but still finds the time to devote to Angel Children Grief Share Support Group on a daily basis, she takes time out to help all and I think she deserves this bouquet for all the wonderful support she gives to a lot of people who need it.” Marilyn Fodden

I nominate Gemma for all the fantastic work she does for Angel Children, putting aside her own grief to help others each and every day. She is a star and with what she is going through at the minute, deserves to be recognised for all of her hard work and devotion to others, getting this bouquet would put a smile on her face for sure.”  Simon Turner

Gemma goes out of her way every day to help the bereaved families that visit the centre. The poor girl is also going through treatment for cancer herself but does she let this affect her? NO, she just gets on with whatever life throws at her and still helps every one who needs help and support. She is indeed EVERYONES STAR.” Lana Cooper
