Vote for our Cause of the Month for June

Please take a moment to vote for one of the 10 causes on the Cause of the Month shortlist who each have a chance to win a donation to help them continue their valuable work. The cause with the most votes fairly cast at 12 noon, 30th June 2011 will win a £200 donation from Viking.

1st Shinfield Road Brownies – Fun and activities for 18 girls between 7 and 10 years old. If they win, they’ll put the donation towards a residential trip for the girls.

Bumblebee Conservation Trust – The Bumblebee Conservation Trust was formed in response to growing concerns about the ‘plight of the bumblebee’. The trust aims to improve our existing knowledge of bumblebees and raise awareness about their declines with the aim of enhancing habitats for these loveable creatures and associated native wildlife.

Cardiff Foodbank – Cardiff Foodbank distributes emergency food aid to individuals and families in short term crisis. They would spend the money on extra equipment to help them expand.

Child Concern Consortium – Child Concern Consortium is a special group of 5 small charities working together to provide help and support for vulnerable children and their families across the UK.

Down’s Heart Group – charity providing support and information relating to the heart problems associated with Down’s Syndrome.

HCPT – The Pilgrimage Trust – The Pilgrimage Trust is a charitable organisation which takes children and adults with disabilities and special needs on pilgrimage holidays.

IIH Support is the only UK online support community dedicated to providing support and information for sufferers of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), a rare neurological condition where excess cerebrospinal fluid causes severe headaches, neurological symptoms, and can cause permanent visual damage.

Sefton Carers Centre – information and support for unpaid carers who live and care in the Sefton Borough.

Thorley Cricket Club – working hard to raise the funds to make the club somewhere to be really proud of for years to come. The money would be allocated to provide equipment for the youth section to allow them to play matches and develop a love for the game.

Windmills Pre School Gazeley – small charity run preschool,  open to all children and currently have a disabled child on the register, who needs one to one care. The money would be used to buy some new toys.
